Similar to microneedling, Aquagold® uses medical-grade micro-needles to inject therapeutic mini-doses of skin conditioning serum directly into the skin, packing a two-pronged skin-enhancing punch. Not only does Aquagold® deliver the serums deep into the skin to optimize their effectiveness, but the micro-needling action of piercing the skin induces a healing response that stimulates collagen and elastin production.

Each Aquagold® micro-needle is smaller than a human hair yet contains microchannels designed to inject 2,400 mini doses of therapeutic skin-conditioning serum per minute. The needles are plated in 24-karat hypoallergenic gold, which is biocompatible with human skin, reducing the risk of skin irritation or an allergic response.

An Aquagold® treatment session at Tampa-based Health + Glow begins with a thorough skin cleansing and, if desired, application of a topical antiseptic to the treatment area. Your Aquagold® practitioner will then glide a small tube-like device across your skin, gently stamping it with 20 micro-needles in an overlapping pattern. With each stamp, the micro-needles penetrate 0.6 millimeters into the skin and inject small serum dosages.

After your 20-minute session, your skin may experience minor swelling and redness, but this should subside within a few hours. You will not need to take any downtime and can immediately resume normal daily activities, but you should avoid direct sunlight and refrain from strenuous exercise for a couple of days.
